AmPro Yamaha Racing’s Rachael Archer secured her second-consecutive WXC National Championship yesterday at The Mountaineer GNCC, Round 10 of the Grand National Cross Country Series. It was another dominant performance from the New Zealand rider, who rode her YZ250FX to a seventh victory in the punishing rain-drenched conditions at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Beckley, West Virginia.

As racing resumed after the Summer break, Archer headed into the weekend with a commanding lead in the GNCC WXC Bike class. Riders were met with challenging conditions on Sunday, as the skies opened up on race day, making for rough, muddy conditions. The reigning champ got off to a good start, quickly claiming the lead and riding a strong pace up front in the two-hour race to remain unchallenged. Her seventh victory of the season not only sealed the deal on her GNCC WXC National title early but added to her stellar 2023 season thus far with the AmPro Yamaha Racing team. She hasn’t finished worse than second in the class, and earlier this year, Archer took home the number-one plate in the U.S. Sprint Enduro Pro Women’s (100cc-Open) Championship with a total of nine victories.

The Grand National Cross Country Series resumes in two weeks for the penultimate round at the Buckwheat 100 in Newburg, West Virginia, where Archer looks to add more wins to her landmark season.

Donnie Luce – Amateur MX/ ATV / Off-Road Coordinator for YMUS

“What a way for Rachael to clinch a second GNCC WXC Championship with a win in the nastiest of conditions. Rachael and the AmPro Yamaha Team have been faced with similar conditions numerous times this year in the GNCC series with similar results, which further proves the durability and winning legacy of both her and the YZ250FX in off-road racing!”

Randy Hawkins - AmPro Yamaha Racing Team Owner

“We build champions here at AmPro Yamaha, and Rachael is a testament to that. She started five years ago with us as a young girl and loved racing motorcycles, and wanted to chase a dream here in the USA to become a champion. She has put in the hard work, and we have worked with her as well. Now she has multiple national championships, and we couldn’t be more proud. It’s been an amazing season!”

Rachael Archer - AmPro Yamaha Racing

“2023 has been a stellar season for me. Wrapping up the U.S. Sprint Enduro Championship back in June and then wrapping up the WXC Championship with two rounds left is awesome. I couldn’t have done it without my mechanic and the whole team behind me. It’s been a near-perfect season, with my worst result being a second all year!”
