Estenson Racing Primed for American Flat Track 2023 Start

JD Beach, Dallas Daniels, Trevor Brunner, and new addition Tom Drane are eager to launch their respective AFT title campaigns in Daytona / Mar 8, 2023 /

The Estenson Racing team is eager to kick off the 2023 American Flat Track season tomorrow with a Daytona Short Track doubleheader in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Thursday, March 9, and Friday, March 10. JD Beach and Dallas Daniels look to lead the way in the Mission SuperTwins Championship, while Trevor Brunner and Tom Drane look to take the crown in the AFT Singles Championship.

The team has been hard at work during the off-season looking to build on their 2022 breakthrough season in the premier class with the MT-07. Last year, Beach scored the most wins in the stacked Mission SuperTwins class with four victories and made eight trips to the podium. He looks to add more wins to his all-time tally this year and a Grand National Championship to his resume.

Daniels also looks to build on his 2022 success as he heads into his sophomore season in the premier class. The 19-year-old had a standout rookie season, taking two wins on the Mile tracks and ending the year third in the points standings with a total of seven podiums. With a year of experience under his belt, the two-time AFT Singles Champion (2020-2021) looks to make a run at the title in 2023.

On the AFT Singles side of the tent, the team has been hard at work preparing the all-new Yamaha YZ450F for the 2023 American Flat Track season and looks to reclaim their top spot in the class. With some time testing on the new bike, Brunner is excited to take it to battle. The Indiana rider hit his stride during the second half of last season with a pair of wins and looks to carry that momentum with his new YZ and to be a title contender in 2023.

Drane joins Brunner for a two-pronged threat in the AFT Singles Championship. The 16-year-old Australian is one of the sport’s top up-and-coming talents, making an impressive debut last year at the Lima Half-Mile with a win in the dash for cash and a runner-up finish in the main event. Drane has enjoyed a productive off-season of training and getting acquainted with the bike and his new team and is eager to start his first full season in American Flat Track.

Tommy Hayden – Estenson Racing Team Manager

“We’re really excited about kicking the season off at the Daytona Short Track. It’s always a cool place to race. It can be a little bit of a crap shoot, being a short track and with the limestone surface, but it’s exciting to change it up this year and start somewhere different.”

“We’ve been busy this off-season. The crew has worked really hard, and our riders have been putting in a lot of work on their side. I appreciate the effort of the whole team. We’ve asked a lot of them this off-season, and they’ve done a great job. We can’t wait to get going!”

JD Beach – Estenson Racing Mission SuperTwins

“I’m feeling good going into the new year. I feel like we can win every round this year. It’s by far the best I’ve felt going into a new season with the bike, my fitness, my crew, and the team. I’m looking forward to it!”

“To start the year off at Daytona, at the short track at the speedway, is really cool. I actually think riding the twin on the short track is a lot of fun, and I think it’s cool that they brought our race back to Daytona to be kind of more in the midst of bike week. I think it’s going to be a really good two days of racing.”

Dallas Daniels – Estenson Racing Mission SuperTwins

“We’re really excited to get the season started. Last year was a really good year, and it was a good step in the right direction for the team. We’ve made a lot of improvements with the motorcycle, and we’re trying a lot of new stuff, so that’s going to be exciting too. I’m really looking forward to my second year in SuperTwins. Last year as a rookie, I went without having any notes and not knowing what to expect and how to react in certain situations. So now that I kind of have that, it will be beneficial not only for me but the team. Also, last year was our first year on this chassis with this kind of engine package, so we’ve got a year on that. I think it’s going to be a really good season. I’m looking forward to just having fun and trying to win the championship.”

Trevor Brunner – Estenson Racing AFT Singles

“I think it’s going to be a great year. We’ve got a brand-new motorcycle, and it seems to be working really well during pre-season testing, so I’m really excited to hit the AFT circuit with it. Also, I have Tom Drane as a teammate, which is new for this year. It should be really great to work with him and get some feedback from him throughout the race day and maybe progress with each other throughout the day and pull each other to the front. It’s always a big plus to start the season here during Daytona Bike Week with all of the crowds and on the short track in Daytona on the white limestone; you can’t get much better than that.”

Tom Drane – Estenson Racing AFT Singles

“I’m looking forward to my first full season in American Flat Track. I want to be able to do my best and, hopefully, get on the podium and maybe get a win. The off-season’s been going pretty well. I’ve been doing heaps of training and have been able to figure out the new bikes. I have been learning a lot. It has been really good, and we can’t wait to get started.”
