Yamaha Yard Built - XJR1300 ‘Guerilla Four’ by Rough Crafts
XJR1300 ‘Guerilla Four’ by Rough Crafts
Yard Built exports artisinal production to Taiwan with the XYR1300 "Guerilla four" by Rough Crafts.
The celebrations for the twentieth anniversary of the Yamaha XJR1300 have been geared to a new and extraordinary creation, the result of collaboration with Rough Crafts. The Taiwanese builder Winston Yeh, who joined the Yard Built family, revisited the iconic road giant by creating an even more solid, formidable and essential bike that leaves everyone breathless.
"The Yard Built concept is constantly evolving," said Shun Miyazawa, Product Manager at Yamaha Motor Europe. "We have been privileged to collaborate not only with the best manufacturers in the world, but also and most of all with customizers that distinguish themselves with the originality and unmistakable style with which they cross every boundary. The Yard Built XJR1300 'Guerilla Four' is no exception, thanks to the signature of Rough Crafts that makes it an elegant and essential model that does not go unnoticed. "
"The XJR1300 2015 is inspired by the latest custom and is designed to be easily customizable," continued Miyazawa. "This new creation is backed by our philosophy, demonstrating that it is possible to make unique motion on XJR base without having to make changes to the chassis, opening up numerous possibilities and providing customers, even those who do not have the skills needed to make a motorcycle tailor made, a source of inspiration for the personalization of their bike. "
The customization process followed by Winston is unique: after virtually designing the bike, collaborates with the best craftsmen to customize each component and every finish of its creation. Making use of mechanics for metalworking, painters, anodizing, and constructors of the Taipei Road tradition means ensuring a final result that fully reflects the ideal of Rough Crafts: the "handicraft production in Taiwan".
Winston has created the "Guerilla Four" without cutting or welding the chassis, inserting a set of Rough Crafts components and integrating parts produced by other major builders. The solid but extraordinary appearance of the front section was achieved by replacing the fork of a 100mm Yamaha VMAX front fender with front springs and adjusting the 11.5-inch disc brake caliper. Rough Crafts customized plates allow you to have everything you need at the top, and all the instrumentation has been removed to get an extremely clean look.
The impressive Coker Beck Style tires surround the Roland Sands BOSS Black Ops rims, while the standard exhaust system converts into a Rough Crafts customized terminal.
The painted black with pinstriping of the same color and the Rough Crafts logo were executed by the Air Runner Custom Paint, the best painters in Taipei. The metal component was entirely made by OneHandMade Customs, while Anodizing has handled chrome finishings.
Custom Rough Crafts footboards, Fighter handlebar, Fin Style handlebar risers and the ISR braking system enhance finishes. The Rough Crafts lighthouse grille is tailor-made, the speed stacks, the tank, the saddle and the rear section create an extraordinarily aerodynamic line, perfectly complemented by the tank cap.
A selection of "Guerilla Four" components will be available for XJR owners who want to customize their bike.
