High Tech Turbo Able to withstand highly elevated temperatures, the Nickel alloy turbine body is extremely strong and precise. Supported by premium ceramic ball bearings, the Inconel turbine blade assembly is very light and strong which yields a low moment of inertia for a lightning quick response to the exhaust gas input. Triple throttle bodies are used exclusively to further enhance the quick delivery of compressed air from the impeller to the intake valves.

Versattak 146 Rear Suspension The Dual Shock 146 rear suspension is fitted into a light mountain, tapered tunnel. It also features a mountain style front arm with special 146" rails that utilize a long rear QS3 shock with a lightweight single pull rod. The uniquely designed shock pivot on the uncoupled front arm provides a smooth transfer for great handling both in and out of the powder.
146" x 2" Camso® Track Born in the Rockies, the 2" lugged Camso® track offers up the best traction for off trail play. The longer 146" length gives plenty of float and lift to keep you going and won't get you stuck in tight, challenging terrain.
Stealth Control System The handlebar controls feature a left-sided switch cluster for “on-the-fly” access to the multi-step hand and thumb warm adjusters, the push button reverse gear shift and the multi-function gauge that can be easily select information with a convenient toggle. On the right side, a clean bar hosts an ergonomically-shaped throttle lever and a simple, stand-alone emergency stop switch. The Hayes 'Stealth' brake cylinder is equipped with a composite brake lever that, coupled with a lightweight caliper, offers better feel and powerful stopping performance.
Mountain Seat The lightweight X-TX SE mountain seat's tall and narrow profile eases rider transitions from side-to-side and improves stand-up ergonomics.
Push Button Reverse With just the push of your thumb, you can easily shift to and from reverse. A servo motor shifts the drivetrain into reverse simply and consistently while an audible warning beeper reminds you when the system is still in reverse.
Large Capacity Fuel Tank The Sidewinder's generous 8.9 gallon / 33.6 liter fuel tank serves more purpose than just carrying a day's worth of fuel. It also cradles the battery and is the platform for the quick-release trail seat. The ever-changing fuel load is carried low and rearward which helps centralize the overall mass and balance of the sled.
Triple Throttle Body Induction The Yamaha Genesis turbo engine's intake system uses three separate throttle bodies that are positioned very close to the intake valves to create a quick engine response with little to no lag. This is something not see in any other production turbo on the planet.
EBRS Engine Braking Control The effect of 4-stroke 'engine braking' when the throttle valves are closed has a significant impact on handling and ride character, so Yamaha developed a special system which employs the ISC (idle speed control) circuit and ECU map that uses throttle valve movement and RPM information to reduce negative intake pressure during deceleration.
Mitsubishi Electronic Control Unit The Yamaha-developed Mitsubishi ECU uses a series of 9 sensors to gather running condition data to compute a predetermined memory map which will adjusts ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air-pressure and turbo boost pressure to produce maximum performance under any condition.
Electronic Air Bypass Valve (ABV) Unlike conventional turbo 'blow-off' valves, the Yamaha ABV redirects air pressure back into the intake side of the compressor which prevents surge and maintains impeller speed.
SRV-M Front Suspension The sleek SRV-M Front Suspension is ultra compact to reduce unwanted spindle and suspension drag when in deep snow. The narrow stance allows for extreme maneuverability and delivers aggressive lean angles for incredible side-hilling and powder-turn capabilities. The lightweight, forged aluminum spindles join the widely spaced upper and lower control arms which produces a large caster angle for tight side-hilling and ease of steering. The clean, narrow overall stance and elimination of the sway bar also greatly enhance deep snow agility.
YSRC High Performance Clutch System The YSRC primary and roller secondary clutches are calibrated for durable, cool operation. They efficiently harness and transfer the massive torque produced by the Genesis Turbo to the track, all while minimizing drive belt wear. The primary shifts out aggressively to use all of the power while the roller secondary is quick to back-shift and provides additional ratio through its oversized sheaves for continuous acceleration.
Yamaha Mountain Ski The lightweight Yamaha Mountain ski delivers everything you want in a deep snow ski. Its wide footprint enhances flotation and actively lifts the sled’s nose up in deep powder. Traction lugs on the top of the ski give a sure foothold when it gets really gnarly. The wide and deep keel design deliver light steering effort yet confident and predictable handling, whether it's hard-packed snow or fresh fluff.
40" Ski Stance With quick transitions from side to side, the 40" ski stance hits the sweet spot between cornering on-trail and deep snow carving off-trail. The wide profile and single keel design of the Yamaha Mountain Skis compliment the narrower stance for off-trail agility and on-trail confidence.
Mountain Steering System A dedicated, tall-steering post delivers optimum ergonomics for stand-up riding. The 5.5" riser and the broad, molded, curved-end mountain bar and incorporated mountain strap deliver ample leverage for off-trail riding. The adjustable system dials you in during sweep and reach to keep you in the sweet spot.
