The uniquely designed shock pivot on the uncoupled front arm provides a smooth transfer for great handling both in and out of the powder.

Large Capacity Fuel Tank The Sidewinder's generous 8.9 gallon / 33.6 liter fuel tank serves more purpose than just carrying a day's worth of fuel. It also cradles the battery and is the platform for the quick-release trail seat. The ever-changing fuel load is carried low and rearward which helps centralize the overall mass and balance of the sled.
Stealth Control System The handlebar controls feature a left-sided switch cluster for “on-the-fly” access to the multi-step hand and thumb warm adjusters, the push button reverse gear shift and the multi-function gauge that can be easily select information with a convenient toggle. On the right side, a clean bar hosts an ergonomically-shaped throttle lever and a simple, stand-alone emergency stop switch. The Hayes 'Stealth' brake cylinder is equipped with a composite brake lever that, coupled with a lightweight caliper, offers better feel and powerful stopping performance.
20" Tunnel Bag The under-seat bag provides additional storage. With it's semi-rigid design, the bag is easy-to-access and water resistant while the quarter-turn, quick-release fasteners make for a quick removal.
Push Button Reverse With just the push of your thumb, you can easily shift to and from reverse. A servo motor shifts the drivetrain into reverse simply and consistently while an audible warning beeper reminds you when the system is still in reverse.
High Tech Turbo Able to withstand highly elevated temperatures, the Nickel alloy turbine body is extremely strong and precise. Supported by premium ceramic ball bearings, the Inconel turbine blade assembly is very light and strong which yields a low moment of inertia for a lightning quick response to the exhaust gas input. Triple throttle bodies are used exclusively to further enhance the quick delivery of compressed air from the impeller to the intake valves.
Mitsubishi Electronic Control Unit The Yamaha-developed Mitsubishi ECU uses a series of 9 sensors to gather running condition data to compute a predetermined memory map which will adjusts ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air-pressure and turbo boost pressure to produce maximum performance under any condition.
Triple Throttle Body Induction The Yamaha Genesis turbo engine's intake system uses three separate throttle bodies that are positioned very close to the intake valves to create a quick engine response with little to no lag. This is something not see in any other production turbo on the planet.
Dual-Piston Braking A dual-piston brake caliper applies braking forces directly to the drive shaft with a wave-style, lightweight drilled rotor. The LE-only rotor removes 1 lb. of rotating mass from the vehicles driveline which transfers all of the Sidewinder's available horsepower to the snow. The Stealth master cylinder and composite Stealth brake lever offer excellent modulation and ergonomically precise operation.
Electronic Air Bypass Valve (ABV) Unlike conventional turbo 'blow-off' valves, the Yamaha ABV redirects air pressure back into the intake side of the compressor which prevents surge and maintains impeller speed.
Liquid Cooled Turbo Body When the engine shuts down, the convection energy produced by the super-heated coolant at the turbo head keeps circulating without the coolant pump in operation which eliminates the need for an engine cool down cycle, all while maintaining the turbo components' durability.
Centralized Mass Design The SRV chassis layout was engineered to centralize mass. Approximately 60% of the sled's weight is tightly centered within the main triangulation for a quick-handling, well-balanced sled that's fun to throw around in a wide variety of conditions.
Lightweight, Rigid SRV Chassis The SRV chassis combines a load-bearing triangulated structure with lightweight aluminum construction to create a neutrally balanced sled that's centered on the rider. The pyramidal upper frame builds chassis strength without excessive weight.

Mountain Steering System A dedicated, tall-steering post delivers optimum ergonomics for stand-up riding. New Single Keel Ski The new Yamaha-designed single keel ski strikes the elusive balance between lightweight steering effort and precision handling. Unique, tapered carbides further enhance steering response while the exclusive shim pad assembly works with the rubber saddle block to adjust the carbide pressure point. By relocating the thick spacer located on each ski axle to the opposite side, the ski stance becomes adjustable.
