The Dual load 146 is a “coupled” skid-frame that utilizes a unique “sliding” front arm mount with half an inch of movement at the front arm “slot”. This active arm design delivers controlled ski-lift during acceleration while retaining a good measure of independent front arm tracking. The addition of passenger 'overload' springs help compensate for the extra weight of a passenger to reduce bottoming and maintain balance.

The front shocks mount directly to the leading spar so that trail forces are routed to the strongest part of the chassis.   • Yamaha Electric Power Steering - 'EPS'
    Yamaha introduced EPS for snowmobiles in 2011, pioneering the innovative technology that both reduces steering effort and increases steering precision. The newest generation has reduced weight by over 3 pounds and incorporates a ‘brushless’ DC motor. No brushes to wear out means greater reliability and much better thermal performance or ability to maintain full output power for longer periods of time. Variable assist EPS utilizes a magnetic torque sensor to measure steering input based on torsion or 'twist' of the steering post resulting from handlebar input combined with ski resistance. The contact-less, magnetic torque sensor supplies this data to an integrated 'control module' which in turn, signals the brushless 'servo-motor' to assist the steering through its powered, worm-gear 'drive assembly'. The system also provides engine 'rpm' and vehicle 'speed' data to the control module which calibrates for increased assistance at lower speeds then tapers off as the vehicle accelerates giving a more balanced, natural feel or 'connection' to the terrain. When the skis encounter an abrupt force that works against the steering input, the torque sensor alerts the control module to apply additional assistance to counteract or ‘resist’ the negative input. This effectively reduces the steering effort required while enhancing predictability for greater rider confidence and less fatigue.

    Both driver and passenger are provided with convenient RCA DC outlets for heated helmet visors plus a console-located socket type outlet to power-up other 12V accessories.
  • Front/Rear Adjustable Hand Warmers
    The driver and passenger stay warm with independently-controlled hand warmers. Functional wind deflectors are also added to the padded rear grab bars to keep the elements away from the passenger's hands.
  • Protective Windshield
    The medium-smoked polycarbonate windshield shields the high-mileage rider from the coldest days. Incorporating a small lip at the top, the windshield deflects wind and snow up and over the rider at speed while the flared edges provide added protection and warmth for your hands. Thicker than standard windshields, this windshield reduces mirror vibration at speed and features pre-marked indents for easy installation of the optional mirrors.
  • Stealth Control System
    The handlebar controls feature a left-sided switch cluster for “on-the-fly” access to the multi-step hand and thumb warm adjusters, the push button reverse gear shift and the multi-function gauge that can be easily select information with a convenient toggle. On the right side, a clean bar hosts an ergonomically-shaped throttle lever and a simple, stand-alone emergency stop switch. The Hayes 'Stealth' brake cylinder is equipped with a composite brake lever that, coupled with a lightweight caliper, offers better feel and powerful stopping performance.


  • Triple Throttle Body Induction
    The Yamaha Genesis turbo engine's intake system uses three separate throttle bodies that are positioned very close to the intake valves to create a quick engine response with little to no lag. This is something not see in any other production turbo on the planet.
  • High Tech Turbo
    Able to withstand highly elevated temperatures, the Nickel alloy turbine body is extremely strong and precise. Supported by premium ceramic ball bearings, the Inconel turbine blade assembly is very light and strong which yields a low moment of inertia for a lightning quick response to the exhaust gas input. Triple throttle bodies are used exclusively to further enhance the quick delivery of compressed air from the impeller to the intake valves.
  • Mitsubishi Electronic Control Unit
    The Yamaha-developed Mitsubishi ECU uses a series of 9 sensors to gather running condition data to compute a predetermined memory map which will adjusts ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air-pressure and turbo boost pressure to produce maximum performance under any condition.
  • Lightweight Rigid SRV Chassis
    The SRV chassis combines a load-bearing triangulated structure with lightweight aluminum construction to create a neutrally balanced sled that's centered on the rider. The pyramidal upper frame builds chassis strength without excessive weight.


  • EBRS Engine Braking Control
    The effect of 4-stroke 'engine braking' when the throttle valves are closed has a significant impact on handling and ride character, so Yamaha developed a special system which employs the ISC (idle speed control) circuit and ECU map that uses throttle valve movement and RPM information to reduce negative intake pressure during deceleration.

  • YSRC High Performance Clutch System
    The YSRC primary and roller secondary clutches are calibrated for durable, cool operation. They efficiently harness and transfer the massive torque produced by the Genesis Turbo to the track, all while minimizing drive belt wear. The primary shifts out aggressively to use all of the power while the roller secondary is quick to back-shift and provides additional ratio through its oversized sheaves for continuous acceleration.
  • Yamaha Stryke Ski
    The Yamaha designed, single keel ski, strikes the elusive balance between lightweight steering effort and precision handling over a wide range of snow conditions. Special staggered carbides further enhance steering response. A unique EPS shim pad assembly works in conjunction with the rubber saddle block to adjust the carbide pressure point. Overall ski stance is also adjustable by relocating the thick spacer located on each ski axle to the opposite side.
