Yamaha Outdoors and Toyota USA Donate $1,000 to National FFA
Yamaha Outdoors and Toyota USA yesterday committed to donating more than $1,000 to the National Future Farmers of America as part of Toyota’s Corporate Giving Campaign.
During this one-day event, Toyota offered test drives at Yamaha’s U.S. headquarters in Southern California promising a $10 donation to National FFA for every person who drove one of the new 2014 Toyota models. Yamaha Outdoors, also a strong supporter of NFFA, offered to match the Toyota donation adding an additional $10 per demo ride. By the end of the day, enough employees participated to top the $1,000 mark.
“The National FFA Foundation appreciates all of the work that long term partners like Yamaha Outdoors and Toyota USA do to promote our programs and support our students,” said Maggie Stith, senior regional director for corporate contributions, National FFA Foundation.
In addition to cash donations such as yesterday’s effort, Yamaha sponsors the National FFA’s annual Outdoor Recreation proficiency award. The National FFA’s Outdoor Recreation encourages students in projects that develop a thorough understanding of income-producing outdoor recreational business enterprises such as vacation cabins and cottages, camping and/or picnic areas, fishing, hunting, winter sports, shooting preserves, guide services and trail rides among others.
“Yamaha’s support of the FFA is an extension of our overall commitment to U.S. agriculture, farmers and farm families,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha ATV and SxS marketing manager. “Yamaha employees were proud to learn that their own personal interest in the great Toyota vehicles available for test drives today also spurred additional financial support for a great organization in the FFA.”
