Aboard his Obermeyer Yamaha/Raines Racing/GYTR WR450F, Jedediah Haines won the 2013 AMA East Hare Scrambles championship at the postponed final round of the season in Plainview, Il. on Sunday, Oct. 6.
On an alternately fast, tight and technical course that started wet but eventually dried out during the race, the Pennsylvanian started fourth and battled his way to the win with solid riding and quick pit stops by his crew. Achieving his second consecutive championship was especially sweet for Haines after working hard to recover from a mid-season injury.
“After three months off the bike, it took just the right training to get strength back in my hands again,” he admitted. “Defending is way harder than earning the first title, but it was definitely worth all the effort and time. Thanks to my sponsors and my regular riding buddies!”
